General Information
Grading is open to Ninja (5-8 yrs) students of SGMAA who have passed their in-class pre-grading test.
Approved students are to wear their traditional white SGMAA Taekwondo club dobok along with their headband and current belt tied properly and with the correct stripes attached, T-Shirts are not permitted on Grading day. Uniforms must be clean, tidy and well presented.
Taekwondo shoes and rolled sleeves are not permitted when grading and students must be well groomed when arriving to the mat.
Please ensure finger nails and toe nails are kept short and manicured for the safety of other grading participants.
Students are to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled grading time and be marked off the role at front desk before entering the Dojang.
Spectators
Family and friends are welcome to come and show their support, however there are rules for spectators and guests to the Dojang:
Remain quiet during the grading promotion test; students need absolute focus.
Strictly no interruption to the grading proceedings for any reason.
Spectators must not enter the mats without permission from a Head Instructor.
Phones must be on silent and if you need to take a call quietly leave the Dojang.
NO CLASSES RUNNING ON GRADING DAY
Classes will NOT be running on Ninjas grading day.

Grading Methodology
Our Ninjas (5-8 yrs) program and subsequent quarterly gradings are designed to bring out the very best in our younger students with a stimulating and engaging syllabus that lends itself to teaching the basics of goal setting, a 'work = reward' attitude to learning and a regular opportunity to participate in a challenging and exciting belt promotion test where students can effectively present to their parents all their hard work.
Ninjas will feel accomplished when they are encouraged and lead through our syllabus that seamlessly integrates with our Juniors and Seniors syllabus – all designed to take the student from an absolute novice to an internationally certified expert some day as they grow with the academy.
Our program, syllabus and teaching methods are designed to help your child progress in their Martial Arts journey and together with your support, we can extract the very best out of them with a little patience, persistence, guidance and understanding.

Grading is open to coloured belt Junior & Senior students of SGMAA who have passed their in-class pre-grading test.
Approved students are to wear their traditional white SGMAA Taekwondo club dobok along with their current belt, tied properly and with their correct stripes attached. Uniforms must be clean, tidy and well presented to be eligible to sit the grading.
Taekwondo shoes and rolled sleeves are not permitted when grading and students must be well groomed when arriving to the mat.
Please ensure finger nails and toe nails are kept short and manicured for the safety of other grading participants.
Students are to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled grading time and allow adequate time to warm-up and stretch prior to being called for their grading. We will not be running a warm-up and stretching routine, so it is up to the student to ensure they are ready to go once called up.

Grading Examination Process
From White Belt to Red 2 Belt, the grading is scored by modules and each module allows the student a maximum of 3 errors per module; exceeding 3 errors will cause the student to fail that module. We ask the students to continue on with their grading even if they make mistakes and know they have failed a module.
The student will not receive their promotion on grading day if modules are failed, rather they will be given another chance to perform the failed modules 1 week later at our Make-up Grading.
Failing the modules again at the Make-up Grading will constitute as the student has officially failed their grading and will need to re-sit the pre-grading process again at the next SGMAA grading opportunity.
Alternatively, passing the failed modules at the Make-up Grading will result in the student having officially passed their grading and they will be promoted to their next belt level at the conclusion of the Make-up Grading.
Our program, syllabus and teaching methods are designed to help you progress in your Martial Arts journey, however it is a joint effort and you need to work as hard on yourself as we do in educating you in order for us to take you to Black Belt and beyond.

BLACK BELT

Grading is open to Junior & Senior students of SGMAA who have passed their in-class pre-grading test in BBE and are currently Red 3 belt or above and looking to sit the Cho Dan Bo and above level grading.
Approved students are to wear their traditional white SGMAA Taekwondo club dobok along with their current belt, tied properly and with the correct stripes attached. Uniforms must be clean, tidy and well presented to be eligible to sit the grading.
Taekwondo shoes and rolled sleeves are not permitted when grading and students must be well groomed when arriving to the mat.

Grading Examination Process
From Red 3 to Black Belt levels, the grading is scored by modules and each module allows the student a maximum of 3 errors per module; exceeding 3 errors will cause the student to fail that module. Failing 3 modules will result in a failed grading attempt.
We ask the students to continue on with their grading even if they make mistakes and know they have failed a module.
The examiners will advise if and when your grading has concluded due to making too many errors.
The student will not receive their promotion on grading day if modules are failed, rather they will be given another chance to perform the failed modules 1 week later at our Make-up Grading. Failing more than 3 modules will constitute as the student has officially failed their grading and will need to re-sit the grading process again at the next SGMAA grading opportunity.

Fees for Black Belt levels include examination fee, board breaking, Kukkiwon Certification and Belt purchase/embroidery.
All Black Belt students of SGMAA must wear the Black Belt issued by SGMAA with club embroidery.
